Ulf G Bronas, PhD
Ulf G. Bronas, PhD, ATC, FSVM, FAHA is a Professor of Biobehavioral Science in Nursing and Rehabilitation Medicine at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Bronas has a vibrant research program funded by the National Institute of Aging investigating the intersection between cognition and vascular function, brain structure, and neural network plasticity, and the impact of exercise training in older adults with chronic kidney disease and mild cognitive impairment. He is further investigating the impact of living environment and daily experiences on physical activity and dietary habits in midlife, a critical period in the lifespan that often determines healthy aging. Dr. Bronas' work is elucidating the impact of stress reactivity on racial/ethnic disparities in cognitive function in midlife. His work has expanded to include prevention of age-related cognitive decline and neural networks in older Latinos at risk for Alzheimer's disease.

Shayan Shirazian, MD
Dr. Shirazian obtained his medical degree from Brown University and completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center. He then spent 7 years at NYU-Winthrop Hospital where he was the fellowship program director and the director of nephrology clinical trials before being recruited back to Columbia. He is a board-certified general internist and nephrologist and is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Shirazian's clinical interests include home dialysis modalities, treating co-morbid mood disorders in patients with kidney disease, hypertension management, cancer-related kidney disease and preventing recurrent kidney stones.

Lawrence Honig, MD, PhD
Lawrence S. Honig, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (New York, NY), in the Department of Neurology (Division of Aging and Dementia), the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain, the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center, and at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He directs the New York State Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease, co-directs the Lewy Body Disease Association Research Center of Excellence, and the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Center of Care, and is Deputy Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

Frank A. Provenzano, PhD
Dr. Provenzano’s research focuses primarily in the exploration of MRI methods in the domains of neurology and psychiatry. Specifically, using high resolution non-BOLD fMRI to interrogate small regions within the functionally defined areas of the brain, specifically the hippocampus. Using these high-resolution functional scans, one can apply detected dysfunction to characterize disease states and risk in Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive aging, schizophrenia and others to assess potential risk and therapeutic response.

Nathan Tintle, PhD
Dr. Tintle been a leading Biostatistics/Statistical Genetics researcher and educator. He has developed novel methods for the analysis of genetics data, served as a biostatistician and as a statistical geneticist. In 2018 he was selected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. He has co-authored over 125 peer-reviewed publications, served as PI on over 20 major federal grants and mentored over 125 undergraduate research students. Dr. Tintle is also active in the development of novel curricular materials and pedagogical strategies in undergraduate statistics education.

Spyros Kitsiou
Dr. Kitsiou’s research, service, and teaching experiences are in the areas of mobile health informatics (mHealth), telehealth/telemedicine, and evidence synthesis. Dr. Kitsiou is the founder and director of the mHealth Innovation Lab at UIC, and Associate Editor in two top-ranked health informatics journals, namely the Journal of Medical Internet Research and JMIR mHealth and uHealth.

Elizabeth Duverger is a Research Associate for the EXEC study. She has worked in different research areas such as neurology and pediatrics for more than 10 years.

Jana Zahlan, BS
Jana Zahlan is a Research Assistant for the EXEC study. She received her BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in 2020. Since then, she has worked in multiple research areas including infectious diseases, oncology, and chronic diseases. She is now pursuing an MS in Epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.

Shina Min is a Research Assistant for the EXEC study. She holds a BS in Public Health from the University of Maryland. With experience in data analysis and interdisciplinary research projects, Shina is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Epidemiology at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. Her research focuses on aging and chronic diseases.

Jasmine Steele is a Research Assistant for the EXEC study. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in public health in 2022. Jasmine is currently pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology with a certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. In her free time, Jasmine likes to binge sitcoms, write Yelp reviews, and explore NYC!
